The community of Buffalo is mourning the tragic loss of Hannah St. Cyr, a beloved student at The Park School of Buffalo, who passed away in a car accident on April 13, 2025. Just 17 years old, Hannah was a vibrant soul whose kindness, brilliance, and joy lit up every space she entered.
Hannah was known throughout the halls of The Park School as a compassionate and enthusiastic learner. Teachers fondly recall her curiosity and willingness to lend a helping hand. “She was the kind of student who not only wanted to learn but wanted everyone around her to learn, too,” one teacher shared. “Her spirit made our classroom feel alive.”
Whether participating in classroom discussions, contributing to school theater productions, or leading volunteer efforts, Hannah gave her all. Her friends describe her laugh as infectious and her smile as unforgettable. “Even when things felt heavy, Hannah had this way of lifting people up,” said one of her classmates.
Outside of school, Hannah continued to make an impact through community outreach, always seeking to bring people together and make the world around her a little brighter. Her generosity and genuine nature left an indelible mark on everyone she met.
A Funeral Service to honor Hannah’s life will be held Friday at 10 AM at Temple Beth Tzedek, 1641 N. Forest Rd., Williamsville, NY. For those who can’t attend in person, the service will be streamed at btzbuffalo.org.
In Hannah’s passing, the Park School community and Buffalo at large have lost a shining star. But in sharing stories of her kindness, celebrating her life, and supporting one another, her memory lives on. As one teacher said, “We were lucky to know her.
