Hunter Williams Army Obituary, Cause of death – Native of Sherman, Texas passed away at age 17

Sherman, Texas mourns the loss of 18-year-old Hunter Dale Williams, who passed away on January 1, 2025. Born on January 18, 2006, Hunter was a dedicated member of the U.S. Army National Guard, having enlisted on October 26, 2023, at just 17 years old. After graduating from Sherman High School in May 2024, he completed basic training at Fort Moore, Georgia, and became an infantry soldier by December 17, 2024 .​

Hunter’s life was tragically cut short due to a motorcycle accident on South Travis Street in Sherman. According to local authorities, he was traveling at a high rate of speed when he lost control and crashed. He succumbed to his injuries at the hospital .​

Known for his adventurous spirit, Hunter enjoyed fishing, playing video games, and working with his hands. He was a loving son, brother, uncle, and friend, remembered for his kindness and sense of humor. Hunter is survived by his parents, Misty Lemonds and Jeremy Williams; sisters, Caitlin and Haley Williams; niece, Katalina Dunn; and several other family members .​

Visitation was held on January 15, 2025, at Waldo Funeral Home, followed by a funeral service on January 16 at Western Heights Church of Christ. He was laid to rest with military honors at West Hill Cemetery in Sherman .​
