A routine evening in Louisville’s Tyler Park neighborhood took a tragic turn Wednesday after a two-vehicle collision ended with one woman dead under suspicious circumstances.
Louisville Metro Police Department (LMPD) responded to reports of a crash involving a Jeep and a pickup truck at the intersection of Tyler Park Drive and Baxter Avenue. Emergency responders transported the female driver of the Jeep to UofL Hospital. Despite efforts to save her, she was pronounced dead shortly after arrival.
While the collision itself appeared non-fatal, investigators were alarmed to find that the woman had sustained an “unknown penetrating wound not associated” with the crash, prompting LMPD’s Homicide Unit to take over the investigation.
As of Thursday, no other injuries have been reported, and authorities are seeking the public’s help. Anyone who may have witnessed the incident or has surveillance footage is urged to contact the anonymous tip line at 502-574-LMPD.
